Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Criminal Defense Attorney role located in Phoenix, AZ. The attorney will manage a caseload of criminal matters from intake through resolution, including conducting client interviews, gathering case facts, and assessing potential defenses. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing discovery requests and responses, and negotiating with prosecutors. The role involves regular court appearances for arraignments, hearings, trials, sentencings, and other proceedings, as well as communicating case updates and strategic recommendations to clients. The attorney will collaborate with staff and, when necessary, investigators or experts to build strong cases, maintain organized case files, and ensure compliance with all ethical and procedural requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with specific expertise in Criminal Law and Criminal Defense Law.
• Demonstrated experience in Criminal Defense practice, including handling criminal cases from intake through trial or negotiated resolution.
• Proficiency in legal Research, including case law, statutes, procedural rules, and evidentiary standards.
• Active license to practice law in Arizona (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
• Prior courtroom experience, including motion practice, evidentiary hearings, and trial advocacy.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including clear drafting of motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Strong client communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues and manage expectations professionally.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and maintain organized files in a fast-paced environment.
• High ethical standards, sound judgment, and commitment to zealous, client-focused representation.
• Experience in Arizona criminal practice, local courts, and procedures is highly beneficial.
