Join Middlebury Animal Hospital and bring your compassion, clinical skill, and love of animals to a supportive in-person veterinary team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Veterinary Technician, Vet Tech, Certified Veterinary Technician, Registered Veterinary Technician, or Veterinary Assistant who wants meaningful hands-on work, a varied caseload, and the chance to make every patient visit calmer and more comfortable. You will be valued for the care you provide to pets, the reassurance you offer clients, and the expertise you bring to a collaborative hospital environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Support veterinarians with patient triage, physical restraint, medication administration, sample collection, venipuncture, and IV catheterization.
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical and dental procedures, bringing focus, sound judgment, and patient safety awareness to every case.
  • Perform diagnostic support work such as laboratory testing, radiographs, ultrasound assistance, and accurate medical record documentation.
  • Help clients understand discharge instructions, medications, preventive care recommendations, and follow-up needs with empathy and professionalism.
  • Maintain clean, organized treatment and surgical spaces that promote excellent patient care and an efficient workflow.

What You Will Bring:

  • You have hands-on veterinary, animal care, or clinical experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced companion animal hospital.
  • You can confidently assist with anesthesia monitoring, surgery support, venipuncture, catheterization, or diagnostic sample collection.
  • You communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners and teammates, especially when patients or clients are experiencing stress.
  • You demonstrate strong attention to detail when administering medications, documenting care, following protocols, and prioritizing patient needs.
  • You are committed to compassionate handling practices; Fear Free certification, or an interest in Fear Free techniques, is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Credentialed candidates, including Certified Veterinary Technicians and Registered Veterinary Technicians, are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in internal medicine, critical care, preventive medicine, radiology, ultrasound, laboratory procedures, or discharge planning will help you thrive.
  • A veterinary technician education or relevant clinical training is welcomed, though qualified Veterinary Assistants with strong practical experience are also encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Earn a competitive hourly wage of $19 to $25, based on experience, credentials, and demonstrated skills.
  • Enjoy health, dental, and vision insurance, along with a 401(k) plan and Health Savings Account options.
  • Benefit from flexible scheduling, vacation leave, sick leave, and paid time off that supports your life outside the hospital.
